ANALISIS KONDISI KESEHATAN HUTAN MANGROVE MELALUI PENDEKATAN APLIKASI MONMANG DI AREA PBPH: PT BARISAN PEMUDA NUSANTARA KOTA LANGSA

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems play an important role in maintaining the ecological balance of the coast, but their existence continues to experience pressure due to human activities. This study aims to analyze the health conditions of the mangrove ecosystem and the distribution of mangrove species in the Forest Utilization Business Permit (PBPH) area of PT Barisan Pemuda Nusantara, Langsa City, by utilizing the MonMang Application technology version 2.0. Data collection in the field used a purposive sampling method through 30 plots on 5 transect lines. The mangrove health index (Mangrove Health Index/MHI) is classified as moderate, with MHI values ranging from 39% to 61%. The highest canopy cover value was recorded in line 5 at 90.08%. Six types of mangroves were found at the research location, with the dominance of the Rhizophora apiculata species. The results of this study indicate that the MonMang Application can be an effective tool in digitally monitoring mangrove health. This research is expected to be the basis for making sustainable mangrove ecosystem conservation and rehabilitation policies in coastal areas.
