IDENTIFIKASI KOMODITAS HASIL HUTAN BUKAN KAYU PRIORITAS DAN STRATEGIS DI KABUPATEN ACEH TENGAH

Abstract

Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) have an important role in supporting community livelihoods and forest conservation. This research aimed to identify types of NTFP commodities, determine criteria and indicators to establish priority commodities, and develop strategic schemes for superior NTFP development in Central Aceh Regency. Data were collected through interviews with Social Forestry farmers and relevant institutions. The study identified ten main NTFP commodities: local and forest honey bees, jernang rattan, rattan, arenga palm, pine, agarwood, resin, bamboo, citronella, and cinnamon. Seven assessment aspects were used as indicators, including ecological conservation, socio-cultural, socio-economic, socio-political, development, regional, and forestry dimensions. The results indicated that pine resin was the most strategic commodity. Development strategies include resource management, capacity building, value-added processing, policy support, and mapping of potentials and routes. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for sustainable NTFP development policies
